Define bija mantras and explain why they are considered particularly important in yoga. Explain how to pronounce some fundamental sounds that make up mantras. Provide the sound of each of the principal bija mantras and describe the energy invoked by each. Explain the role of chakra bija mantras and the sound of each. Note the qualities associated with chanting each chakra mantra.
