Understand the physiology and profound significance of sleep, and how quality sleep and poor sleep impact health and well-being.

Discuss the critical and fundamental role of sleep in healthy functioning. List 15 specific aspects of our lives that are directly related to how well or how poorly we sleep. List a dozen or more specific health problems that poor sleep can trigger or contribute to. Cite research on the physiology and effects of sleep, and of sleep issues. Discuss the physiology of sleep, particularly sleep stages. Describe circadian rhythms and body clock, and an understanding of the uniqueness of individual sleep patterns.
