In this lesson we introduce the “spondy” conditions: spondylosis, spondylitis, spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis.
Objective
Differentiate spondylosis, spondylitis, spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis and become familiar with spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis. (The other two conditions are covered in the arthritis lessons.)

Explain where in the body spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis normally occur and who is at increased risk for these conditions. Note a common cause and potential symptoms. Describe cautions for working with a student with these conditions and explain how yoga might help. Provide a list of poses and types of sequences you might consider.
