Lesson Overview

In this lesson, we differentiate the teacher from the teachings, highlighting aspects of your approach that contribute to your overall presence and effectiveness.

Be aware of elements of your teaching approach that contribute to your overall presence, so that you can be your unique self while also examining ways to maximize your effectiveness in delivering the teachings.

Differentiate teachings (i.e. the content of what you teach) from the human doing the teaching. Consider attributes and behaviors which contribute to your unique presence and systematically consider how these stylistic elements affect the way you deliver the teachings. Note considerations related to body language, expression and gaze while teaching. Describe how you might appeal to students with different learning styles. Provide ways to consider your presence in terms of confidence and humility.
